Smart Kids, Inc., by way of The Tutor Me Program, provides a safe, caring, and nurturing place for extended academic, social, recreational, and personal life skills development for students after regular school hours.  Students are provided with academic enrichment opportunities and activities designed to complement their regular school academic program by providing a range of high quality services that supports student learning and development. This includes 1:1 tutoring and mentoring and assistance with homework. The program provides academic enrichment in study areas of math, history, reading/language arts, and science programs, as well as offering community services opportunities.  All academic services provided are aligned with the school’s curriculum in the core subject areas. The Tutor Me Program services students from schools that qualify as high poverty; that is, schools with a student population with at least 40% eligible to receive free or reduced lunch. 

Having strong partnerships with local universities/colleges, schools, families, and community partners has contributed enormously to the success of The Tutor Me Program, as well as to the growth of students as they mature into competent and responsible adults. These partnerships helpsus provide opportunities for academic enrichment, including providing tutorial services to help students, particularly students who attend low-performing schools, to meet State and local student performance standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and mathematics. In an effort to enhance the Tutor Me Program, the Explore St. Louis Summer Camp was added to offer students a broader array of additional services, programs, and activities, such as: youth development activities; STEM programs; art/DIY projects; music; recreation programs; technology education programs; and character education programs designed to reinforce and complement regular academic program of participating students.

Smart Kids, Inc. recognizes that improved student achievement occurs when programs (such as the Tutor Me Program implements strategies scientifically proven to be effective. A long-term goal of Smart Kids, Inc. is to create a more positive future for children and youth by focusing on constructive learning activities during non-school hours. The result has been greater academic achievement and social outcomes for children and youth. The Tutor Me Program provides safe and engaging environments that complement the school day and promotes learning, resulting in improved student outcomes. 

Smart Kids, Inc., by way of the Tutor Me Program and Explore St. Louis Summer Camp, has developed activities that meet the needs of the students being served. Tutoring and supplemental instruction in basic skills, such as reading, math, science, and youth leadership/character building are the core services provided.  Another of our long term goals is to strengthen or implement services of academic assistance, enrichment in arts and culture, computer instruction, employment preparation or training.

Smart Kids, Inc. also provides volunteer and community service opportunities to both high school and college students on a continuous basis, allowing them to satisfy their curriculum requirement.
