Explore St. Louis Summer and Camp's (ESSC) mission is to allow campers to explore St. Louis through different events, programs, exhibits, and field trips outside of their neighborhood. ESSC dates are Monday, June 3, 2024 - Friday, July 26, 2024. For information to come soon.
ESSC is a summer day camp that serves co-ed campers, ages 5-13. We have two different payment options. We are currently working on funding for a free summer camp. Before Care (BC) is from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM. After Care (AC) is from 4:00 pm to 6:00 PM. The weekly fee is $15 per day for each service.
ESSC Enrollment Applications opens April 1, 2024. Only the first 30 applications will be accepted. We will keep the applications until we hit capacity. All parents will be notified once we receive your application. Please click here to fill out the application. Remember, one application per camper.
If you have a camper that is currently receiving Special School District services, campers can receive financial assistance with covering the entire tuition for our summer camp. I want to come back next year because it would be fun again.
I think the students learned a lot this summer and I feel like the counselors had a big part in how they are now.
What I liked the most was being able to gain experience working with kids. The kids gained confidence and prep for school.
I have seen students grow in confidence in Math as well as Reading Comprehension. At the start of camp, there were a few participants wanting to volunteer in answering questions but now everyone wants to participate. I also liked the opportunity the program provided for them to continue to learn over the summer break, which they can apply in the upcoming school year. This camp give them a boost of confidence and advancement.
Yes, I would tell people about this camp because it was good.
I found out that I am good at spelling. This camp was fun, plus I liked playing on the scooters a lot.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION
Smart Kids, Inc. engages with a lot of students, volunteers, and staff members of different ethnic groups. It is with great understanding that all participants recognize the importance of working side by side with people from different backgrounds. Our team deals with diversity everyday in the workplace, when providing our program services to students with the Greater St. Louis region. We make it a priority to discuss, implement, and practice the importance of policies and procedures of diversity training. We never want to make feel uncomfortable when participating in our organization.
Being that we all come from different backgrounds at Smart Kids, Inc., it is understood that we have great equity at all times. One of our first priorities is to treat everyone with respect and dignity. We also provide the same opportunities to enhance the student’s educational growth.
As an organization that deals with a lot of diverse students with different backgrounds, we want everyone to feel comfortable and for them to be themselves. It is already hard for students to seem perfect with social media telling them what is perfect and what it not. That is not our environment and we strive to make it a better experience when participating in our programs. We have all walks of life that we work hand in hand with and we aim for them to be their full selves. Being yourselves and being comfortable here at Smart Kids, Inc. makes it easier for you to be successful and really learn what you need better through our tutoring sessions.
