Explore St. Louis Summer Camp (ESSC) mission is to provide campers the opportunity to explore St. Louis through different events, programs, exhibits, and field trips outside of their neighborhood.
The 2022 ESSC was a huge success. We want to thank our many Community Partners that provide programming, events, activities, STEM, and fun to our campers. ESSC applications will open up on May 1, 2023, and camp will run from June 5, 2023, to July 28, 2023. We can't wait to see your campers next summer!

ESSC provides underserved campers the opportunity to explore St. Louis through different attractions, shows, exhibits, programs, activities, community events, and other places outside of their neighborhoods. We are excited to provide underserved campers with tutoring/mentoring, Arts & Crafts, S.T.E.M. activities, financial literacy, DIY projects, computer enhancement skills, nutritional and health education, painting, cooking classes, swimming, and of course tutoring. Breakfast and lunches are provided, so there's no need to pack a lunch.
For the 2023 summer, we are excited to bring this program to your children. For more information, please check back at a later date. We also have our camp information on BluePrint4Summer.
ESSC also partners with the Summer Youth Employment Program that employs youth. This program is to support the youth in both St. Louis County and St. Louis City. For students wanting employment, please sign up early to secure your spot for employment. Click for both St. Louis County/City
I want to come back next year because it would be fun again.
I think the students learned a lot this summer and I feel like the counselors had a big part in how they are now.
What I liked the most was being able to gain experience working with kids. The kids gained confidence and prep for school.
I have seen students grow in confidence in Math as well as Reading Comprehension. At the start of camp, there were a few participants wanting to volunteer in answering questions but now everyone wants to participate. I also liked the opportunity the program provided for them to continue to learn over the summer break, which they can apply in the upcoming school year. This camp give them a boost of confidence and advancement.
Yes, I would tell people about this camp because it was good.
I found out that I am good at spelling. This camp was fun, plus I liked playing on the scooters a lot.
